Exit & Emergency Lighting Brisbane
Installation, testing and repairs of exit signs and emergency lighting for Brisbane businesses and body corporates.
Exit and emergency lighting in Brisbane commercial buildings is a compliance obligation, not an optional extra. When the power fails, exit signs and emergency luminaires must light the way out, and Australian Standard AS 2293 requires them to be inspected and tested at regular intervals, with results recorded. Crusader Electrical & Air installs new systems, replaces failed fittings and runs the routine testing that keeps your building compliant.
We look after individual shops and offices through to whole buildings for body corporates and property managers, and we put every test on record so you can show compliance when your certifier, insurer or fire safety adviser asks. Licensed electrical contractor 91149. General guidance on workplace electrical safety is published by WorkSafe Queensland.

Exit and Emergency Lighting Brisbane FAQs
How often does exit and emergency lighting need testing?
AS 2293 sets the routine: fittings are inspected and discharge tested at six monthly intervals, with the results recorded. We set the schedule, do the testing and keep the records current.
Who is responsible for compliance?
The building owner or occupier, depending on the lease. For strata buildings it usually sits with the body corporate for common areas and with tenants inside their own tenancy. We can cover both under one program.
What happens during a test?
Power to the fittings is interrupted so each unit runs on its battery for the required duration. Fittings that fail to last the distance are identified for battery or unit replacement, and everything is logged.
Can you take over from our previous contractor?
Yes. We start with a full inspection and test, bring the records up to date, and continue the schedule from there.
